Mckana's giant columbine is a bright and colorful flower that will bloom for you this spring in a grand assortment of colors -- shades of red, pink, yellow, blue, purple, lavender, white and many pleasing combinations. Mckana's giant columbine is easy to grow and lasts for years. 2-5' tall. Simply covered with large 4'' flowers and 5'' spurs. Select plants. Mixed colors. One of the best in the long spurred hybrid range producing 2-3in wide flowers in an excellent color range. Suitable for bedding and cut flowers. Flowers late spring/early summer. Position: Part shade. Perennial zones 2-9. 18-30 " tall, space 12" apart. Full/part sun, average water. Aquilegia vulgaris l. is a species of columbine native to Europe. It is a flowering herbaceous perennial plant growing to 1.2 m tall, with branched, thinly hairy stems. The leaves are biternate; each leaf has three groups of three leaflets. Columbines make excellent cut flowers and attract bees, birds, and butterflies. BLOOM TIME: Late Spring - Summer (Repeat Bloomer). HARDINESS ZONE: 2 - 9 (and reseeds itself easily).
