Snow-in-summer (cerastium tomentosum l.) - perennial, 10-15cm (3.9-5.9in) tall lovely carpet flowers. Sets pretty white, tiny flowers and gray foliage. Blends well in dwarf flower gardens, nicely decorates corners, rockeries etc. Easy growing with no maintenance required. Grows best in dry soil and sunny, warm, bright location. Can grow in the same place for 3-4 years. Brings in harmonious feel grown alone or in groups with colorful flowers. A very useful groundcover perennial, often grown in dry, sunny areas with poor soil. Plants form a low, fast-spreading mat of silvery-grey leaves, studded with tiny white star flowers in late spring and early summer. Low growing, creeping, very dense and mat-like ground cover. The ever-green leaves are grayish-green and covered with soft textured white-ish hairs. Growth is moderate to fast. Excellent tolerance to drought and very little water is required once established. Works well on banks that are too steep to mow, between stepping stones and between the cracks of stone walls and hedges.
