The Dirty Gardener Pada Pals Versatile Accessory
About pada palsI had to try it. we always have ideas that never come to fruition. I didn't want that to happen again. It all started with a visit from my mom. She was visiting us a few years ago and the crafty woman that she is, was doing a crafty project with my crafty daughter, Brigit. We all had such fun coming up with decorative accessories to wear that I decided to turn this idea into a little business. So now, this project has been simmering for quite some time, okay, about 2 years of simmering, but with four kids, a job and a little yoga gig on the side, this had to go to the back burner many times! Speaking of yoga, the name pada comes from yoga, it means foot in Sanskrit, the language of yoga. Originally my idea was an accessory for on the shoe, a foot pal. Thus, the name, pada pals. Back to simmering, simmering can be a good thing, it allowed me to stir a philanthropic component into the mix. During my simmering, I read, Start Something that Matters by Blake Mycoskie. I was totally inspired and knew that no matter how long this project was going to take I was going to follow through with it, if not for me, then for the hungry kids I knew I could help. Then came my idea of pals for pals, each pada pal sold would contribute to the pals for pals movement which would put food into hungry kid's backpacks to help feed them through the weekend or school vacations.
